This existing Darlinghurst garden and pool was under-utilised, surrounded by brick walls, a large corrugated iron façade. Contemporary standing seam cladding was added to the balcony to provide some definition on the large rear facing façade with an open style pergola structure added above the pool area to provide proportion and longer term privacy.
Further interest was created with warm textured herringbone paving, off form concrete bench seating and a contemporary vertical rod pool fence. The garden areas were finished with medium size deciduous trees to create year round privacy and colour that also allow light to flood through in winter. Complementary layers of perennials and trailing plants further soften the hard structures. The result is an urban oasis rich in colours and textures.
